René Pérez Joglar, otherwise known as Residente, is a man of many talents. He’s a rapper, singer, writer, producer, and film director. But that’s not all… Along with his stepbrother Eduardo José Cabra Martínez (under the moniker Visitante) and sister Ileana Mercedes Cabra Joglar (under the moniker iLe), they form the legendary rap group Calle 13. Most of these bangers have been included in his 2024 sophomore full-length release, LAS LETRAS YA NO IMPORTAN. With 20 tracks that Residente has racked up over the last seven years, LAS LETRAS YA NO IMPORTAN is a genre-bending harvest of sounds that dip into the likes of rock, old-school hip-hop, flamenco, Cuban son, Palestinian music, electronic, and pop.
