Rainbow Kitten Surprise at Radio City Music Hall

Rainbow Kitten Surprise is an American indie alt rock band. The group first formed in North Carolina and lists other performers such as Modest Mouse, Kings of Leon, Frank Ocean, and Schoolboy Q as signature influences on their sound.

Rainbow Kitten Surprise members include Ela Melo - lead vocalist (she/her), Darrick “Bozzy” Keller (he/him; guitar, vocals), Ethan Goodpaster (he/him) lead guitar, vocals) and Jess Haney (he/him; drums). Their unusual name came about because they asked a friend who was in hospital to name their band - their friend was a little out of it due to morphine and medication at the time. Nonetheless, their unique name, sound and songs have captured the hearts of rock fans across America. Rainbow Kitten Surprise have been called poetic song writers- they find "harmony in unpredictability – weaving together lyrical poetry, hummable melodies, and a rush of instrumental eccentricities."

The bands new album, Love Hate Music Box, draws inspiration from the last six years, including reflecting on the hardships that their lead singer - Melo - has experienced. Love Hate Music Box marks their largest musical project since their 2018 album 'How To: Friend, Love, Freefall album'. Their tour starts in Indianapolis and stops off across the states - hitting some of their first ever stadium venues.
