A global sensation in the entertainment industry, Ellen DeGeneres is set to embark on a farewell tour, "ELLEN'S LAST STAND... UP". Following the finale of her legendary "The Ellen DeGeneres Show", the talk show is hitting the road for the last time, and she's got a whole lot of stuff to talk about. The tour has 27 shows on the list, and she sure is up and ready to engage and converse with her audience on a night of laughs and real conversations. Moreover, she also announced a Netflix Special coming out later this year, six years since "Relatable".
The tour, produced by Live Nation, marks Ellen's return and last hurrah on the big stage. As her 19-season talk show concluded following controversy, Ellen's setting the stage for closure, and you can expect her to cherish all the good things in her last special. In an official release, the tour is said to "reintroduce her trademark wit and laughter-inducing anecdotes" back on the stage.
After owning up to her mistakes, fans have long waited for Ellen's return. "To answer the questions everyone is asking me – Yes, I’m going to talk about it. Yes, this is my last special. Yes, Portia really is that pretty in real life," DeGeneres shared in a statement about her upcoming Netflix special, expected to hit the shelves in late 2024.
Back on the road to say hi and bid her farewells, she sure is an icon in the industry. The Ellen DeGeneres Show premiered in 2003 with Jennifer Aniston as the very first guest. On the show's last episode in May 2022, the Friends TV star went back and took part in its final episode as Ellen's first and final guest.
The Ellen DeGeneres show shared a whole lot of beautiful and iconic memories over the last two decades. Winning 63 Daytime Emmys in total, it sure was a TV favorite. Ellen's legacy remains, despite how the program ended. In her final speech, Ellen says "If I've done anything in the past 19 years, I hope I've inspired you to be yourself.
