Eight years ago, when Mac had just released This Old Dog and he was at the peak of his indie popularity, he came to Radio City right here in New York to give us a once in a lifetime performance - and a sold out show. And as he returns to the venue this fall, older and more experienced albeit, we expect that same energy from Mac - and more importantly, the crowd! Throughout his career, Mac has given us unforgettable moments in the Indie Pop Hall of Fame, and with his Mac DeMarco 2025 Tour, which will be hitting thirty three stops from Los Angeles to Dublin, Mac is slated to reaffirm his spot in the Jangle Pop history books. And we’re so here for it.
DeMarco was born in the B.C. and raised all across Canada in his Salad Days. His grandmother looked after him often, and also taught him how to play guitar around the time he was in Jr. High. He loved the instrument and as such, formed and joined many bands with his friends at the time. He also started smoking cigarettes at this time, which aesthetically became a major part of his image and early sound as he was catching popularity in the early 2010s. After his move to Vancouver and selling out his first project Heat Wave, Mac knew he had something special, and he continued to work on his solo career with his move to Montreal. By the time his second album, Salad Days, had come out - Mac was the certified newest talent in the indie scene.
Pitchfork reviews, late night show slots, and awards followed with the release of his second album. Mac’s use of flat drums, subtle soundscapes and off-kilter pop melodies is what has made him so popular throughout the years, and his 2025 tour is only a testament to his long lasting staying power. He’s probably your favorite newcomer’s favorite artist, so why would you NOT catch his show when you have the chance to this year?!
Tickets are on sale right now and available for purchase. Grab yours today, and let’s have the best time ever! See you there.
